In a fitting tribute to our friend and ex-Captain Steve Myhill, who passed away recently, Sunbury Skiff Club invited Wraysbury and other skiff club members to join their 2025 Meander and made it in memory of ‘Spyder’ the nickname of the great man.

The Meander is a four day paddle from the source of the Thames at Lechlade to the end of the freshwater/locked section at Teddington. 125 miles of paddling passing through 44 locks making it a true test of skiffing technique, boat skills and endurance (both on and off the water).
Eight double skiffs completed the trip with crew members, from different clubs, swopping between boats and rowing and coxing positions. Skiffs can carry light luggage so we were able to stay at riverside hotels and surprise the locals at the hostelries along the way.
Congratulations and thanks to Sunbury Skiff Club and the many people who helped run the event but particularly to Johnny Graham and Rachel Mason kept us in order and ensured we were fed and watered.
