Waka Ama

Waka Ama is a traditional outrigger canoe paddling sport originating from the indigenous people of Aotearoa (New Zealand). It involves a team of paddlers working together to navigate a canoe, also known as a waka, across various bodies of water. The philosophy behind Waka Ama is grounded in the connection between the paddlers, the waka, and the water. It promotes teamwork, respect for the environment, and an appreciation for the cultural heritage of the sport.

Training occurs twice a week with each session lasting up to ninety minutes:

  • Tuesday evening at 5pm and 7:3pm
  • Saturday morning at 9am and 10:30am
