COURSE

Skiffing and ‘on the day’ events: Approximately 600 metres upstream from a point adjacent to Pumping Station to the WSPC Clubhouse. The racing course lies between the Surrey bank and a line of buoys. Any competitor who steers outside the buoys will be liable for disqualification. All boats going to the start must keep to the Berkshire side of the river and must not stop in the navigation channel. All programmed events will be run over the full course.

NOTICES & RULES

  1. Club Racing Shirts must be worn by all competitors.
  2. Competitors must be at the raft at least 20 minutes before the advertised time of their races. Races will be started without reference to absentees. Boating will be from the raft downstream of the finishing line.
  3. The Umpires have absolute control of races and his/her decision will be final.
  4. Dead Heats : For any skiff race – either in the programmed events of the morning or in the ‘on the day’ events in the afternoon, in the event of a dead heat then the race will be rowed out immediately over approximately half the course and be governed by the race umpire that took the original race, with crews retaining their same stations.
  5. All racing disputes shall be referred immediately to the Race Committee whose decision shall be final.
  6. Race Rules : The programmed events of the Skiff Racing will be held under SRA rules.
  7. The Organising Committee may, if notified at least 20 minutes before the official race time, permit a substitute to take the place of one sculler of a double crew named in the entry, provided neither the substitute nor the original crew member has already raced in the event.
  8. Entries for ‘On the Day’ events are requested by 1pm, together with the entry fee. 
  9. For events involving juniors an Indemnity Form needs to be signed by their parent/guardian/a person responsible for their welfare on the day of the Regatta and aged over 18.
  10. The Committee of W & OW Regatta would like to thank Wraysbury Skiff & Punting Club for the use of their Clubhouse and facilities including Skiffs, Punts and all equipment as well as all members who have helped to ensure the event runs and with success.
  11. The Racing Committee reserves the right to alter the programme according to circumstances, on the day. In all cases, their decision is final.
