8 competitors • 2 hours of racing • 16 races 6 finals • 2 dead hits • 9 medals
1 huge “raring-to-go” attitude
What do you do on a rainy Sunday morning? Hold the WSPC Junior Champs of course!
The morning started well with a dry spell and we tried to pack as many single races as we could.
Both finals of the Boys and Girls Single finals where very exciting indeed! Luca and Tom dead heated, as did Elodie and Milène. They all had to race again but only half the course. Good racing and some great sculling.
Luca did very well in the final of the Boys Single. Very composed, good steering and posture, very well done!
Lucy, the youngest member of the team at 6 years old and light as a feather had the biggest smile of all while racing with Elodie, a smile she kept all the way to prize giving to receive her medal.
Orla, our newest member is showing fantastic promise.
Max, very keen and enthusiastic was very critical of his own performance today but kept his smile all the way through.
The ham & cheese croissants, pains au chocolat and fresh waffles kept the energy levels up and the competitors fuelled for their races.
WELL DONE ALL!
Special thanks to Mike, Kevin, Paul, Smithy, Cait and Freya who willingly helped on a wet and breezy Sunday morning… THANK YOU!
Big thanks also to the parents who were very much “hands-on”, sponge at the ready to bail the boats.
Although the season has come to an end, the enthusiasm is still high and the Juniors cannot wait to improve their water skills. We will be concentrating on coxing and watermanship in the coming months.
Looking forward to see you soon at the club. Thank You!
